On June 9, 10 and 11 Weehawken Creative Arts will present a “Culinary Retreat Experience“ with Sara Sharpe and the Box Canyon Lodge in Ouray. During this three-day adventure, students will learn incredible recipes in the kitchen and enjoy a relaxing break in Ouray!
Sara Sharpe began her culinary career as Director of the Cuisinart Test Kitchen in Stamford, Connecticut. There, she played a leading role in demonstrating the food processors that would soon find their way into American kitchens.
Sara founded Sara Sharpe Catering in Miami, FL in 1978 and continues to own and run that company today. She has studied with French master chefs Michel Guerard, Jean Troisgros and Roger Verge.
Sara opened Secret Garden Bed and Breakfast and Fine Catering in Ouray in 2005. Her lovely home and gardens have been the site of many weddings retreats, reunions, and other events in the gorgeous setting of Ouray. Sara is one of Weehawken’s most-popular and highest-rated instructors. Students who attend any of her classes rave about the experience and oftentimes come back again and again for more!
The agenda for this retreat is nothing short of enticing as plenty of learning is incorporated in the schedule in addition to the luxury of enjoying top-notch meals, highly-rated in-class fun, plenty of local adventure, and time to enjoy the sights and shops of Ouray County.
The price for this workshop includes two nights lodging (and taxes) at the Box Canyon Lodge, three learning workshops and meals, and one pool pass per student enrolled. Additionally, WCA is offering a “Spouse Meal Rate” for the experience, where a partner or spouse could opt to take-part in the meals-only, if they are not in the classes (must be arranged in advance – $25 per meal per person). The price for the complete package is $385 for non-WCA Members and $380 for Weehawken Members. Those registering and paying before May 25 will enjoy an additional discount (see www.weehawkenarts.org for details).
Space in this Weehawken workshop is limited and Sara’s Culinary classes are known to fill quickly. With that in mind, students are encouraged to register early. Weehawken Creative Arts is taking registrations on their website: www.weehawkenarts.org and by calling Ashley King at 970-318-0150. More information can also be obtained through Weehawken Creative Arts’ website or phone number.
