OPTIONAL PRE-WORKSHOP CLASS: “The Best of Photoshop Elements & Introduction to HDR” Thursday, July 22, 9 am – 4 pm: This optional pre-workshop class is an exciting “hands-on” day of learning. In the morning, we share our favorite Photoshop Elements tips and techniques from . After lunch, we’ll teach you the amazing potential of HDR (high dynamic range) photography. Bring your laptop computer loaded with Photoshop Elements 6, 7 or 8 (8 is recommended). Also, you should install Photomatix Pro for the HDR portion. You can get a free trial download at www.hdrsoft.comThis promises to be a fun and exhilarating day so sign up early.
ACTUAL SAN JUAN MAJESTY WORKSHOP: Thursday, July 22, 6:30 pm – Sunday, July 25 at Noon: Wildflower Class Begins Thursday evening with an evening lecture and time for socializing and connecting with classmates. On Friday and Saturday, students will head-out on field trips and back inside for review sessions each day. Sunday will end at about noon with a morning review session and evaluation. About the Instructor: Steve Traudt presents national photo programs, writes articles, exhibits fine art and is a pharmacist. His photographs have won many awards and been accepted in exhibitions worldwide. He is known for his energy and enthusiasm and ability to explain even difficult subjects. *4×4 Drivers “Pack” Drivers Needed: Do you drive a 4×4? Would you be willing to take members of the class into the high-country in your vehicle each day (car-pool leader)? If so — please let Weehawken know upon registration. For those contributing this service, Weehawken will discount their class by $25. There will be a few spots available. SUPPLY LIST:
Students need to bring their laptop computer IF they are participating in the Pre-workshop. However, if they are participating ONLY in the Wildflower portion (starting the evening of the 22nd), a laptop is a nice thing to have, but is not required of the participants..
It is also useful, but not required, if the laptop has a recent version of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. You also need to bring your digital camera, lenses and tripod. A “cable release” is recommended too.
You’ll need a card reader or some way to transfer your images from the memory card to your laptop.
Bring appropriate clothing and shoes as we will be shooting outside.
You can bring a sack lunch or go downtown for lunch.
